“BAKOBA works tremendously well and makes practically no noise when played with. Even with many children building at the same time, we do not get the noise from ordinary plastic building blocks.”

“The soft foam building blocks are great for our kindergarten. They make no noise, are easy to clean, and of course, they are always great fun for the children to play with.”

FAQs

Answers to the questions parents, educators and partners ask most about BAKOBA.

What is BAKOBA?
BAKOBA is a soft EVA foam construction toy for children from 3 years and up.

Children use blocks, rods, spinners and connectors to build cars, boats, animals, fantasy worlds, moving models and anything else they can imagine.

What makes BAKOBA special is that children can play with what they build. A car is not just built — it can be driven around the room, tested, improved, taken apart and rebuilt during play. A boat can become part of water play, and a simple idea can grow into a whole story.

The soft EVA foam blocks feel lovely to hold and can be bent and twisted, giving children an extra tactile dimension as they build, test and explore. BAKOBA is quiet, washable and designed for creative everyday play at home, in kindergartens and in schools.
What are BAKOBA blocks made of?
BAKOBA blocks are made from soft EVA foam. EVA foam is a lightweight, flexible and durable material that feels comfortable in children’s hands.

The soft foam makes BAKOBA different from traditional hard construction toys. It allows children to build big, play actively and create freely, while keeping the play experience calmer and quieter for everyone in the room.
What makes BAKOBA different from ordinary building blocks?
BAKOBA combines the joy of construction play with the benefits of a soft, tactile material.

The blocks are light, quiet, washable and comfortable to hold, making them especially practical for young children and shared play environments.

Children can build large models without the same hard clatter as plastic blocks. At the same time, rods, spinners and connectors add movement, structure and new creative possibilities.
What age is BAKOBA suitable for?
BAKOBA is recommended from 3 years and up and is especially well suited for children aged 3–7. Younger children enjoy the soft, tactile pieces and simple building possibilities, while older children can explore balance, movement, storytelling, vehicles and more advanced constructions.
Is BAKOBA safe for children?
Yes. Safety is a core part of BAKOBA. We only use child-safe materials and components, and our blocks are made from high-quality EVA foam selected for safe everyday play.

The EVA foam used in BAKOBA is free from harmful substances according to applicable toy safety requirements. Our products are regularly tested by recognised international laboratories, and BAKOBA is fully compliant with relevant toy safety requirements in the EU, USA, Japan and Australia.

The soft EVA foam is lightweight, pleasant to hold and gentle for children to build and play with — at home, in kindergartens and in schools.

As with all toys, BAKOBA should be used according to the age recommendation on the packaging.
Do children bite BAKOBA blocks, and are bite marks a problem?
Some young children naturally explore toys with their mouths, so this is a fair question.

Based on BAKOBA’s field experience and feedback from kindergartens using BAKOBA in everyday play, bite marks have not been reported as a recurring practical concern.

If a child bites hard enough, a small surface mark may appear. In normal use, this is usually cosmetic, and the block can still be used for building.

As with all toys, adults should guide play if a child repeatedly bites or chews.
